THE MANAGEMENT CONCEPT will aid participants in measuring the effectiveness of their Self-Concept (Thinking Style), through the administration of the Life Styles Inventory (LSI/ STYLUS 1 & 2). Based on well-established theory and research, the twelve dimensions are causally related to behavioral patterns, and produce strong correlations with independent measures of personal effectiveness.
The LSI/STYLUS instrument provides a personal profile based on weighted responses to 240 descriptive words and phrases. Inventories are self-scored,* producing raw scores that are easily plotted on one of several normed profiles. Compared profiles provided in the SELF-DEVELOPMENT GUIDE show the relative importance of all twelve thinking styles in shaping a participant's current behavior.
Styles measured are:
Self - Actualizing |
Avoidance |
Humanistic-Helpful |
Oppositional |
Affiliative |
Power |
Competitive |
|
Conventional |
Perfectionistic |
Achievement |
The SELF-DEVELOPMENT GUIDE provides an interpretation of each style and its related behavior, steps for changing behavior, sample profiles, and a Bibliography of suggested-readings. Individuals can learn to eliminate self-defeating behaviors.
*This LSI report may be supplemented with the computerized version called STYLUS 1 & 2. The STYLUS 1 report presents the participant with a highly detailed and customized analysis of the impact of their Self-Concept on day-to-day management activities. It also provides the basis for continued follow-up to measure and monitor personal growth.
STYLUS 2 allows for a comparison of self-assessment with FEEDBACK from up to ten others. This powerful module allows for a candid view of how one's intentions play out in the world of action. The computerized report is very perscriptive in order to help the participant eliminate self-defeating BLIND SPOTS.
This feedback, combined with their self-assessment from STYLUS 1, provides a very powerful insight into both their effectiveness and their blind spots, and provides them with a customized plan for future growth and development.
